After the last couple of weeks of changed routines it has been surprisingly reassuring to get back to work, and start settling back down to normal. Today and yesterday have been fairly gentle re-introductions to work, but tomorrow I'll start doing 'proper' work - I may even see a child!
What has been less encouraging this week so far is the lack of heating in our building. We have a very old, tempermental boiler, and it broke down again sometime over the weekend. We do have some plug in heaters which we're able to run, but they definitely don't match up to a proper central heating system. Still, its giving me an opportunity to justify buying thermals ready for this weekend's football!
I'm not in the least bit surprised by Villa's "vehement denial" of any interest in Matty Upson. I had the pleasure of witnessing his West Ham debut, sadly the Holte End is not fond of ex-Birmingham players and he was booed every time he went near the ball, right up until the point when he sat down and held his ankle in a blatant gesture of defeat. I would be quite concerned if the reports had been true, he's not a player I particularly rate and I don't think there's anything he could add to the Villa squad.
